# IchiPitchy > IchiPitchy is a free, browser-based vocal studio. It isolates vocals with AI, tunes and edits > pitch note by note, generates a full backing band from a chord progression, mixes multiple > tracks, and exports a lossless WAV — entirely online, with nothing to install. It works best on > desktop. Site: https://www.ichipitchy.com ## What it is A web app (not a plugin, not a download) that covers the whole path from a raw vocal take to a finished mix: vocal isolation → pitch tuning → backing instruments → multitrack mixing → export. It is closest in purpose to Melodyne, Auto-Tune and a light DAW, but runs in a browser tab. ## Editor — vocal tuning - Free online auto-tune: snap vocals to a chosen key and scale, with a Level control for how hard notes snap and a Smooth control that preserves natural vibrato. - Note-by-note pitch editing on a piano roll: drag a note to change its pitch, or double-click it to reshape its pitch curve with control points. - Cut tool splits a note block into separate segments; segments can be merged back. - Automatic note and key/scale detection on import. - Denoise, plus per-note or global effects: gain, EQ (high/mid/low), compressor, reverb, delay. - Advanced per-note formant, timing and vibrato edits (applied at export). - AI assistant: describe a sound in plain English ("make it warm with light autotune in E minor") and it dials in the settings, or ask it how-to questions about the app. ## Recording — record vocals in the browser - Records straight from the microphone in a browser tab, in the Editor (the take becomes a new project, ready to tune) or in the Mixer (the take lands as a clip on its own track, so you can sing over an instrumental or a generated backing band). - Captures 24-bit WAV at the microphone's own native sample rate, so no resampling happens on the way in. - Echo cancellation, noise suppression and automatic gain control are deliberately switched OFF. Those are voice-call defaults: noise suppression eats breath and vibrato tails and automatic gain pumps the level mid-phrase. Headphones are required, because with echo cancellation off a backing track played on speakers is picked up by the microphone. - Live input level meter with a dBFS peak readout and a latching clip indicator, a scrolling waveform, an optional count-in click at a chosen tempo, a duration cap with a countdown, and multiple takes held side by side so a retake never discards the previous one. - The Mixer's recorder has a latency-offset control that nudges the take into alignment with what the singer was hearing; the value is remembered per microphone. ## Vocal isolation / stem separation - Separate a song into vocal and instrumental stems, to isolate vocals or remove vocals. - Stems can be downloaded together as a .zip. ## Mixer — multitrack mixing - Multitrack timeline: add tracks, arrange and split clips, copy/paste/duplicate clips and whole tracks (a copied track brings its clips and effects). - Clip looping: dragging a clip's right edge repeats it on the bar instead of stretching it. A Cycle region loops playback without affecting the export. - Per-track mute, solo, volume, pan, and an effects rack that MATCHES the instrument — drums get saturation and stereo width, bass a cleanup filter and drive, guitars drive and chorus, keys filter and tremolo, while vocals keep gate/EQ/compressor/reverb/delay. - Master bus with a limiter. - Audio can be added from the computer, from a saved project, or sent over from the Editor — and each source can either start a new track or be appended onto an existing one. ## Instruments — backing band generator - Generates a backing band from 50 instruments across 7 groups: Rhythm (drums, percussion, timpani, taiko), Bass (electric, upright, 808, slap), Keys (piano, grand piano, Rhodes, Wurlitzer, clavinet, harpsichord, organ, church organ, synth pad, synth strings), Guitars (acoustic, electric, nylon, banjo, ukulele, sitar, koto), Ensemble (horn section, choir pad, pizzicato strings, orchestra hit, trumpet, trombone), Winds (flute, clarinet, saxophone, harmonica, accordion, pan flute, oboe) and Melody (bells, marimba, vibraphone, xylophone, kalimba, celesta, music box, steel drums, tubular bells, dulcimer, harp, synth lead). Everything is synthesized in the browser; there are no samples to download. - Bass, keys and guitars have selectable patterns: 34 bass lines, 33 comping rhythms, 8 arpeggios and 47 strumming patterns. - Not AI-generated: parts are built with rule-based music theory from the chosen style, key, scale, meter, groove and chord progression, so the same settings always produce the same take. - Time signatures include 4/4, 3/4, 2/4, 2/2, 6/8, 9/8, 12/8, and irregular/additive meters such as 5/4, 5/8, 7/8, 9/8 (daichovo) and 11/8 (kopanitsa), each with grooves written for that meter. - Chord progressions are not limited to the seven diatonic chords: secondary dominants, borrowed /modal-interchange chords, and 7th/9th/sus/power chords are all available, and every chord can have its own length so one bar can hold a single chord and the next can split in two. - Progressions can be typed as text (e.g. `C | F G | Am7 | %`), transposed, doubled, reordered by dragging, and edited full-screen. Guitars get selectable strumming patterns. Separate the song into stems; the instrumental stem is the karaoke track. Export the stems as a zip. - How do I fix an off-key vocal? Auto-Tune snaps it to the detected key and scale; Level sets how hard it snaps and Smooth decides how much vibrato survives. For one bad note, drag that note. - How do I add instruments to my vocals?
